Projects

Our work focuses on the mechanisms leading to the evolution of the atomic scale structures to understand materials behavior and develop more efficient materials and structures for structural and energy applications.

In the quest for imaging atomic scale phenomena, we also develop new experimental approaches based on electron microscopy and atom probe tomography.

The following topics are currently being pursued:

  • Radiation effects on microstructure and properties of structural materials
  • Oxidation and corrosion behavior of alloys for power generation and nuclear applications
  • Precipitation behavior and strengthening mechanisms in light alloys
  • Novel reconstruction and analysis tools for atom probe tomography data

We collaborate with research groups at:

  • University of Michigan, Ann Arbor
  • Ohio State University
  • University of California, Santa Barbara
  • University of Wisconsin, Madison
  • Oregon State University
  • Idaho National Laboratory
  • Oak Ridge National Laboratory
  • University of Manchester, UK
  • Cambridge University, UK
  • CEA, France
